September parents newsletter 2019

Welcome back everyone! We’re all excited about the coming school year and looking forward to meeting everyone. We encourage parents to talk to teachers about any questions you might have about the school or your child. We want everyone to be happy and satisfied and we feel that communication helps to ensure this! For new families, let us introduce ourselves.

Mrs. Jill Liu – supervisor, Montessori teacher & Early Childhood Educator.

Mrs. Julie Kwak – Montessori & Early Childhood Educator.

Mrs. Ludmila Gurevich – Montessori & Early Childhood Educator.

Mrs. Nasrin Islam – Early Childhood Educator.

To ensure that your child receives the maximum benefit in teaching time, teachers request that you bring your child in no later than 9:30 a.m. daily. The tuition fee has increased to $780.00 per month. parents who are paying by cheque can write a series of post dated cheques. If you need monthly tuition receipts, please let Mrs. Liu know, otherwise, there will be an annual tuition receipt.

The weather will soon be changing so please ensure that your child is always wearing appropriate clothing. For indoors your child will need rubber-sole slippers, as well as a full change of extra clothing in case of any accidents. For outdoor, your child needs a rain coat, rain pants, and rubber boots. Please ensure that everything your child brings to school is labelled with his/her name and kept in their cubby. Many items, such as lunch containers, are very similar and they can easily be mixed up or go missing. The morning and afternoon snacks will be collected in snack baskets and put in the fridge by staff. Children are not allowed to go into the kitchen by themselves for safety and security reason. Thank you!

An important remainder.

Please let your child know that toys from home are not permitted at school except on Wednesdays when we have “show and tell”. Action figures and toy weapons are not permitted at the school at any time.

We would like to remind parents to always sign in your child in the morning and sigh out in the afternoon when you leave. These “sign-in” sheets are what we use in case of fire or other emergency to determine that all the children are outside and safe. Please remember that our opening time is 7:30 a.m. and closing time is 5:30 p.m. On Friday, we close early at 5:00 p.m. We would appreciate if you could pick up your child by this time. If for whatever reason, you must pick up your child outside of the designated time there is a $15.00 charge for every 15 minutes. We appreciate your cooperation.

Parents, please send your children to school with a labelled toothbrush. We are trying to emphasize good hygiene every year! Also, we ask that you try to send your child with health snacks such as fruits, cheese, veggies, yoghurt, etc. Please try to limit the amount of cookies, chips and other not-so-healthy snacks that children sometimes bring. We practice two important drills, fire and earthquake drills with children. We would like you to prepare a ‘comfort kit’ for your child in case of an emergency.
